Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met with WAPDA Chairman Lieutenant General (retd) Sajjad Ghani to discuss various ongoing and upcoming water projects in the province. The meeting also included Ahmad Karim Kundi, Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
The projects discussed during the meeting included:
- Chashma Lift Canal: The governor emphasized the importance of this project, stating that its completion will bring about a “green revolution” in the province, benefiting millions of farmers.
- Gomal Zam, Tank Zam, Sheikh Haidar Zam, and Mohmand Dam: Progress on these projects was reviewed during the meeting.
- Small Dams: The governor stressed the need for constructing small dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which will increase water storage, promote agricultural growth, and ensure public welfare.
The WAPDA chairman assured the governor that all projects will be completed within the stipulated timeframe, and that efforts are being made to overcome water scarcity and produce affordable electricity, which will boost industrial and agricultural development.
